JOHN CURL  published the expanded edition of his book For All The People:  Uncovering the Hidden History of Cooperation, Cooperative Movements, and Communalism in America through PM Press.


GERALD NICOSIA  has served as an important literary advisor to director Walter Salles and the cast on the set of the up-coming film ON THE ROAD. Also, Nicosia will release One and Only: The Untold story of ON THE ROAD through Viva Editions in November 2011.




ISHMAEL REED  released Juice!: A Novel (American Literature Series) through Dalkey Archive Press in April of 2011. Also, Reed was awarded the Barbary Coast Award at the 2011 Litquake Literary Festival.



TONY R. RODRIGUEZ released his fourth book abroad, When I Followed the Elephant, in April of 2011.  Moreover, When I Followed the Elephant has been added to the 2011 Fall Semester reading list in "Contemporary American Fiction" by The University of Texas - Pan American.




FLOYD SALAS was honored with a proclamation by the City of Berkeley on September 28th, 2010, which was designated Floyd Salas Day for his "fifty years of literary achievement"  and community involvement. Also, The Contrappasso Magazine  has recently posted "a killer memoir piece by legendary San Francisco Bay Area writer Floyd Salas."



AL YOUNG was awarded the 2011 Thomas Wolfe Prize by the University of North Carolina.
